8 Reasons You Need to Keep Your Eye On Anito Legends

8 Reasons You Need to Keep Your Eye On Anito Legends

Oct 25, 2022   •   Tim Henares

Don’t get it twisted: this isn’t the comeback of that (in)famous chain of motels back in the day. Anito Legends is actually a Filipino NFT game and a very worthy entry into that space.

But don’t just take our word for it: there’s so much more going for this game than just the fact that it’s proudly Pinoy. Here are just 8 reasons!

8. It minimizes the Pay 2 Win factor

One of the key people behind the game, Jayvee Fernandez, said it best: anything you want to accomplish in the game can be accomplished by playing it regularly. It’s competitive, but it’s not prohibitively expensive the way certain other games that shall not be named were, what with buying into the game costing as low as $120 for a functioning team of 3 characters. When you realize that other NFT games cost more than 10 times that, you can really see the care the makers put into the game’s economy.

7. The game takes from Philippine mythology

The art may be cute, but it’s not just from nowhere: the characters you can get are drawn from various aspects of Philippine mythology, resulting in fierce yet adorable creatures like Akay and Dausdos, among other things.

6. It’s super easy and fun to play

If you’ve heard of the Auto-Battler genre, then you know what to expect here: Anito Legends is a fine entry into a great tradition of low-maintenance games that are fun, exciting, and given just the right amount of RNG. You don’t need to devote hours of your day to enjoy this game unless you really want to – even a half-hour a day is enough to keep things quick and exciting. When a lot of NFT games are a slog to go through, this is definitely a breath of fresh air.

5. It’s simple but can get strategically deep

To maximize your characters, some decisions have to be made when it comes to gearing them up! You can give them equipment, and after some time, unlock slots for charms to make each creature you own truly uniquely yours. With no set meta in place yet, the sky’s the limit as to what builds are possible!

4. You can play on your own or even PVP

Whether you’re the type who likes competing with others or the type who just loves the solo grind, the choice is yours. In Anito Legends, you can go on an Adventure to develop your creatures, or go head-on in the Arena to test your mettle with other players!

3. Exciting things are around the corner

As tight-lipped as the developers are, they know what has been a hit and hasn’t gotten over with their current player base, so in terms of look, feel, and even gameplay, a lot of new exciting features are coming around sooner than you think.

2. Jumping in now will help make the game even better

The game is in closed beta right now, so being an early adopter not only lets you get ahead of the curve before a metagame actually takes shape, it actually allows you to direct the fate of the eventual final game itself! Considering how fun the visuals already are, and how simple yet deep the gameplay is, tweaking it towards a more balanced and positive play experience can only be good.

1. Yes, you can make money

Kind of the point of an NFT game, right? We won’t bother drowning you in the details, but you can end up making new characters, and you can sell your characters as you see fit. All that, without having to break the bank. That’s what makes this so different.
