The enhanced community quarantine has restricted us from doing a lot of things from entertainment to social eating. And it’s likely we aren’t getting our “old lives” back any time soon. But thanks to efficient online ordering and bike-delivery systems, we can still have some semblance of a normal life through the comfort of food.

Our community of bikers and employees that are showing up at their jobs faithfully daily are also part of the frontliners helping keep things in order. You’re probably old enough to understand that it is not cool to order and leave your biker hanging or canceling last minute. Instead, show them some love by thanking them and consider giving them tips.

Here are a few of the sandwich places and burger joints open for takeout, pick-up, and deliveries:

Subway

Subway fans, you won’t have to be deprived of your usual B.L.T, grain wheat bread, extra tomatoes, and ranch dressing any longer. They are now accepting deliveries and, just like at their physical stores, you can also choose from their meal deals. Don’t worry, each sub is still fresh and made-to-order. You won’t have to miss that Subway chocolate chip cookie any longer!

How to order: They’re available on FoodPanda and GrabFood and since their store schedules are bound to change every week, follow them on Facebook for updates.

Shake Shack

When the much-awaited NYC burger joint reached Philippine shores and established the first branch in Taguig back in 2019, everyone wanted a taste. Now that Shake Shack accepts deliveries, you won’t have to wait in line just to get a bite out of their signature Shack Burger (P250), ‘Shroom Burger (P445), Crinkle Cut Fries (P130), and the Manila-exclusive Ube Shake (P190).

How to order: Their two branches in Central Square, BGC (10 AM to 4 PM) and SM Megamall (11 AM to 4 PM) are available on FoodPanda. But if FoodPanda doesn’t deliver to your area, you can follow the instructions and order straight from your preferred branch.

Sweet Ecstasy

This local burger joint has earned its reputation as one of the best burgers in town as far as Filipino burger enthusiasts are concerned. Sweet Ecstacy’s burgers are made fresh-to-order on toasted brioche buns and 100% pure beef patties that are grounded daily and never been frozen. From their current delivery menu, you can still order their best sellers The Steamburger (P250) and The Cheeseburger (P240). You can also order their flavorful and equally famous chicken wings and add a side of crispy fries or onion rings. Check out the complete menu here.

How to order: Sweet Ecstasy branches are open from 11 AM to 4 PM Tuesdays to Sundays. Place your orders through GrabFood or FoodPanda or contact them through each branch’s Viber hotline. They recently changed phone numbers so make sure to double-check before sending a message.

8Cuts Burgers

8Cuts are named after their specialty features: 8 cuts of beef in custom-blended patties that are freshly ground, hand-pressed and seared to order. They certainly won’t skimp on the quality, even during these tough times. Get your fill of their Cheeseburger (P210), Four Cheese 2.0 (280), or a dozen of their wings in various flavors.

How to order: Find them on GrabFood, FoodPanda, and LalaFood. You can also order through Moment Group’s website.

Wendy’s

Wendy’s might be a fast food joint but their burgers are certainly no joke. Their Bacon Mushroom Melt (P209) and Baconator Mushroom Melt (P299) might actually just line them up all the other gourmet burger places out there. Partner it up with their creamy Frosty and delicious thick-cut fries and you’ve got yourself a winning meal.

How to order: Take-out and delivery are available through GrabFood, FoodPanda, and LalaFood. You can also order through their website or call 8-533-3333. Follow their Facebook page for updates on their changing delivery schedules.
