It’s that time of the year again that people look forward to the most (aka Christmas in September); the annual Apple product event held at its headquarters saw the company release its latest models for their highly anticipated iPhones after months of rumors about its specs and design.

Apple CEO Tim Cook headed the event, discussing the latest update on Apple and its business endeavours and announced that the company is about to sell its 2 billionth iOS device.

Read below to know everything about the latest iPhones, newest iOS, and its specs.

For this Year, there are THREE new iPhones

Via wccftech

Apple announced the release of the iPhone Xr (the cheaper version), iPhone Xs (the sequel of the iPhone X), and the iPhone Xs Max (the larger version). The iPhone Xr stands in 6.1 inches, just between the size of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.

Like the iPhone 5c, the iPhone Xr is available in white, black, Product Red, yellow, coral (pink), and blue colors. Meanwhile, the iPhone Xs (which is pronounced as “tennis”) is the successor of the highly successful iPhone X, both having an all-screen front. The iPhone Xs Max is much like the Xs, but with a larger display.

What’s the Price?

Via ZDNet

The iPhone Xr starts at $749 which you can pre-order starting next month, while the Xs costs $999 and the Xs Max starts at $1,099. Both phones are available in gold, silver, and space gold and will be available for pre-order at the end of this week.

The Specs

Some of the iPhone Xr’s specs are: single camera: 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, with OIS, A12 Bionic chip, IP67 water resistance, 6.1 inch LCD screen, 1792×828-pixel resolution and 326 ppi (Retina display)

Some of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max’s specs are: dual camera: 12-megapixel wide and telephoto lenses, IP68 water resistance, A12 Bionic chip, two sizes: 5.8 inch (458 ppi) and 6.5 inch (458 ppi) with OLED HDR screen (super retina display).

You’ll now be able to use TWO SIM Cards

Via BGR India

After a decade of releasing iPhones, Apple has now decided to release iPhones that support dual SIM. The iPhones Xs and Xs Max will support two phone numbers and data plans using a single physical SIM card and an integrated eSIM from Apple.

Though the feature isn’t available yet at launch, it will be updated “later this fall.” A special version that will have two SIM trays will be released in China as eSIM isn’t allowed in the country.

The New Apple Watch Series

Via Business Insider

The company also launched the Apple Watch Series 4, which comes with a bigger display and a smaller bezel. It will also prioritize your health, as it will send out notifications whenever your heart rate is too low or beating irregularly. It will also make an emergency call whenever you find yourself in the middle of an accident.

The AirPower wireless charger is still unavailable

Via Udaipur Kiran

Last year, Apple introduced the AirPower wireless charger, a wireless charging pad that uses a charging standard that can support multi-device charging. The device was supposed to be released “early 2018”, but after a year since its first announcement, no device whatsoever has been released in the market.

What Features to Expect with iOS 12

Via TechRadar

Along with the announcement of the new phones, Apple also announced the release of the newest iOS, the iOS 12. Some of the features in the new iOS include the memoji, group FaceTime calls, Automatic OS updates, better notification management, temporary DND (Do Not Disturb) mode, Siri suggestions and shortcuts, among others.

Say Goodbye to the iPhone X

Via Mac Rumors

Yup, you read that right: after being in the market for a year, Apple has decided to discontinue the iPhone X, along with the iPhone SE and 6s. With the release of the new iPhones, specifically the Xs and the Xr (which is a much cheaper replacement for the X), it’s no surprise that the company decided to shelve last year’s model.
