4. Lord of the Rings Trilogy
This seems to be a recent favorite to binge watch during the holiday season. Perhaps taking the opportunity to hang out with friends we missed the rest of the year, a movie marathon would be the best way to catch up with old buddies. And a LOTR trilogy marathon is just the perfect vehicle to get the gang together. If they are really dear to you, you’d put in the extended versions.
3. Star Wars
Both a nostalgic and modern geek favorite, a Star Wars marathon is another sure way to get the whole gang together this holiday season. Light sabers and Jedi robes completely optional, but very much preferred.
2. It’s A Wonderful Life
The original Christmas movie tradition was It’s a Wonderful Life from 1946. This movie reminds us that no matter how dire things get, we should not take for the granted the little things that makes life worth living.
1. Love Actually
We’re not exactly sure how and when this became the ultimate holiday movie tradition. It’s as if all the hopeless romantics in the world got together and voted Love Actually as a must-watch during the holidays, every year. Regardless, repeated viewings of this movie will make us sappy, and we don’t mind sappy during this time of the year.
