After two years of almost total inactivity because of you-know-what, the music entertainment scene is back with a vengeance — and we’re here for it. And there was no better way to celebrate the scene’s comeback than with a first-of-its-kind celebration of music fandoms. Last October 17-23, Universal Music Philippines mounted the UMUSIC Fanverse at Podium Mall in Mandaluyong, and the vibes were ~excellent~. Here are just a few of the highlights from the week.
Immersive Booths
Throughout the event, fans were able to immerse themselves in their respective fandoms, participate in fan activities, and enjoy non-stop music — all for free.
The Encanto booth featured performances from none other than the Family Madrigal.
Arianators were transported to the “7 Rings” MV set.
Beliebers strutted their stuff on the mirrored disco walkway a la “Peaches”.
And Olivia Rodrigo fans could ride the Sour-themed jeepney and feel all their feelings through a videoke sesh in the back.
Meanwhile, Swifties could take pics of themselves in a Midnights-inspired set. Fanverse even held a Midnights Listening Party right when the highly-anticipated album finally dropped!
Merch & Meet and Greets
The event was also a great place for fans to support their favorite artists by purchasing their official merch. Doing so often gave fans the opportunity to meet their idols!
Fans who purchased Zack Tabudlo’s Episode purple vinyl at the Backspacer Records booth got a chance to meet the artist. And (unsurprisingly) the records sold out!

Epic concerts
But Fanverse wasn’t just a convention for music fans — it was also a music festival! The event gave us three days of excellent live performances, and it was incredible.
Queens of the Fanverse on October 21 featured various female and queer artists. P-Pop girl group R Rules, R&B singer-songwriter Dom Guyot, The Voice of the Philippines Finalist Morissette, Ever After singer Bonnie Bailey, and the queens of Drag Race Philippines gave the most extra performances.
On October 22, Cosmic Saturdays attendees witnessed performances from a diverse set of artists. from Cheats, Dermot Kennedy, Elha, and Darren Espanto.
And on October 23 — the final day of Fanverse — fans were treated to Supernova Sundays. The lineup was jampacked with big names like Indonesian singer Tiara Andini, Zild, Shanti Dope, Juan Karlos, December Avenue, and Zack Tabudlo.
We’ll never have an experience quite like the first-ever UMG Fanverse, but we can’t wait what the folks at Universal Music Philippines have up their sleeves for the second edition!
