As much as we love local e-commerce platforms, there are certain items and deals we can only find on Amazon. This is why over the years, Filipinos have gone to lengths to get their orders delivered. Whether that’s via third-party shipping, paying hefty shipping fees and taxes, or asking friends and relatives abroad to leave room in their luggage. But something game-changing just happened: Amazon now offers free shipping to the Philippines.
Amazon offers free shipping to the Philippines
According to the e-commerce giant’s website, you can get free shipping to the Philippines when you check out a total order value of USD 49 (roughly P2,874.85). Note that free shipping is only applicable to certain eligible items. To know which items are qualified, you’ll see a display of “FREE Shipping to Philippines.”
Step-by-step on how to get Amazon free shipping to the Philippines
It’s just like navigating other e-commerce platforms but this time, you have to watch out for certain labels before you add to cart:
- Download the Amazon app or go to their website and log in.
- Set your delivery address to the Philippines
- Select items with the display “FREE Shipping to Philippines”
- Review your Shopping Cart to see if your order qualifies for FREE Shipping
- If your order qualifies, “FREE AmazonGlobal Shipping” will be pre-selected at checkout
The estimated delivery time will depend on your order and you can usually see a delivery range when you successfully check out.
Are taxes and import fees included in the free shipping?
Amazon says there are no changes to the import fee deposit policy and VAT is not included in the free shipping calculation. This means you’ll still have to pay certain fees to claim your package. You can read more about it here.
