2022 is as good a year as any to start things off on the right foot. With so many things up in the air and so many questions unanswered, let’s take some sure steps with our life by using these 8 apps to point us in the right direction.
8. My Fitness Pal
If you don’t have this app yet, you need to. It’s really that simple. One of the reasons we tend to ignore our diet New Year’s Resolution is because it’s such a drag to have to watch what we eat. This app takes all that drudgery out of the way with a simple interface that helps you plan your meals towards a healthier you.
Don’t you wish your life had a project manager sometimes? Well, this is the closest you can get to that without actually hiring someone. Things is a complete and intuitive way to make To-Do lists you’d be happy to accomplish. Don’t let the price tag dissuade you — there’s a reason this app has won a bunch of awards.
Available on the App Store.
Don’t let the hurly-burly of the new normal get to you. Mental health is still as important as ever, and this app will help you carve out some time and space for yourself away from the hubbub of daily life. Meditate, refocus, and be mindful, and then kick some more butt for the rest of the day!
It never hurts to learn a new language, and Duolingo is an app that can help you at your own pace! Select from a bunch of languages including Spanish, German, Greek, and maybe even a cryptolanguage like Klingon, if that’s more up your alley. Any which way, this app will broaden your horizons and allow you to maybe appreciate Money Heist without the subtitles in the near future.
Maybe you want a change of scenery to go along with your return to the workforce. If that’s the case, Glassdoor is the app for you. Not only does this give you relevant job listings to your skillset, it also has reviews for the companies you’re applying to, and a way to actually calculate your current worth in the job market. Never lowball yourself again during the interview!
3. Streaks Workout
The hardest part of getting on a training regimen is starting it out, then keeping at it. Streaks Workout helps you plan your exercise and make you do it daily, regardless of how much (or little) time you have for it. Squeeze every bit of fitness time you can from your day, and turn your routine into second nature!
Available on the App Store.
Sometimes, you just need to get the money out of your hands so you can avoid spending it. If you can’t do it yourself, this app is perfect. Use conditional triggers that will automatically transfer money from your bank account to another that you (hopefully) are setting aside for savings. For example, like milk tea? Well, you can set it up that each time you indulge in milk tea, the same amount you spent will end up going to your savings from your liquid account. It just might save you from all that impulse spending that really adds up!
1. Monster Rancher 1 and 2
If you played this during the Playstation 1 era, then you know you’re in for a retro treat! From the addicting CD minigame that let you unlock monsters with every single CD in your collection (adapted for cellphone users, of course) to raising and battling monsters not named Pikachu, Monster Rancher 1 and 2 are now in app form for you to enjoy in 2022!
Available on the App Store and Nintendo Switch (currently not available internationally for Android).
