Art Fair Philippines 2023 is finally here, and it’s back in The Link! From February 17-19, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of exhibitions, talks, workshops, films and more. This year’s fair features works from artists who completed residencies in various parts of the country as well as lectures, panel discussions and artist talks.

Visitors of Art Fair Philippines 2023 can look forward to an immersive, multi-disciplinary experience that celebrates the vibrant and diverse art scenes across the country. Here are just a few things you can look forward to:

Getting lost in art

This year’s edition of ArtFairPH features a biophilic design, using Philippine bamboo to house each exhibit in its own self-contained world. The result is a maze-like experience that (while confounding at times) enhances the spirit of discovery and surprise.

Learning Opportunities

Art Fair Philippines 2023, in partnership with the Ateneo Art Gallery and Museum Foundation of the Philippines, will continue to offer learning opportunities for visitors via ArtFairPH/Talks — a variety of lectures, panel discussions, and artists talks. Augmenting these learning sessions is ArtFairPH/Workshops, which focuses this year on digital art and blockchain technology. These workshops are organized with Tezos and its Asian arm, TZAPAC.

Discovering our local crypto art scene

Art Fair Philippines 2023 also features ArtFairPH/Crypto, a space dedicated to the emerging field of cryptoart. Attendees will have the chance to meet crypto artists from all over the world, learn about their projects and processes, and discover the exciting possibilities offered by blockchain technology.

Cinematic gems

The fair will also host ArtFairPH/Film, a two-night series of film screenings.  The first evening brings Alternative Cinema: History, Theory and Practice, featuring an overview of Filipino alternative cinema presented by renowned filmmaker and film historian Nick Deocampo. The second night will feature a selection of lumbung films, featured for DOCUMENTA 15 in Kassel, Germany.  The lineup for the second film evening is co-organized with Resbak and Lost Frames.

63 exhibitors from the Philippines and overseas

There is no shortage of talent at this year’s art fair, with 63 exhibitors from the Philippines and around the world (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Australia) showcasing their works. Expect to discover a wealth of different mediums, from traditional paintings and sculpture to video-art installations and interactive pieces.

The archipelago, represented

Art Fair Philippines 2023 is not just a fair showcasing art from across the country, but also a celebration of the different regions of the archipelago. Several art groups from the three main island clusters of the Philippines join the fair for a section that provides regional focus. These exhibitors are: no Space (Luzon), Orange Project (Visayas) and Panit Bukog (Mindanao).

Art Fair Philippines ticket prices, location, and other details

Art Fair Philippines 2023 runs from February 17 to 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM and is located at The Link car park.
