ARMY! A BTS Pop-Up Store is Opening in SM Megamall — Here’s What You *~May~* Be Able to Buy

SM Megamall is trending, and it’s all because their Facebook page suddenly dropped a teaser of a new store — a BTS pop-up store, to be exact.

Just a couple of hours later after it was posted, the photos of BTS’s logo in what we all recognize as the Fashion Hall of SM Megamall have reached tens of thousands of people, and fans have taken to the internet to express their excitement. This Philippine branch of the Map of the Soul Pop-Up Store is the sixth one to be announced after those in Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the two upcoming in Thailand and Malaysia. But what could you see in the BTS Pop-Up store when it opens? Based on what we’ve seen in the now-closed pop-up stores in Seoul, Tokyo, and Singapore, here’s what we can expect.

Disclaimer: This is just speculation based on what we’ve seen in other branches so far!

An aesthetic set-up

The pop-up stores were full of Instagrammable set-ups inspired by some of BTS’ most famous songs. There was a retro American street boulevard inspired by the band’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Dynamite.” In Seoul, there was a pair of big black wings drawing inspiration from BTS’ “Black Swan.” And in some locations, there were life-size figurines of the TinyTan, the chibi-style characters of the band.

Since space may be limited in SM Megamall and people need to observe social distancing, there might not be as many set-ups as in other stores, but there’s still loads of merchandise to enjoy.

BTS-themed clothing

From sweaters and hoodies to slippers, caps, and bags, the Megamall pop-up store would probably offer clothing inspired bearing BTS song titles and lyrics.

Stationery

Love journaling? These song-inspired cards, pens, stickers, notebooks, and more would help you document your fangirl life much more accurately.

Tumblers and mugs

When the Map of the Soul Pop-Up store was first launched, the Seoul branch exclusively carried the logo tumblers, but they eventually sold them to other branches as well. So yes, we could probably expect this kind of useful merch in the Megamall branch!

Cushions and blankets

If you want to redecorate your home, you may want to wait for the Megamall pop-up store to release its item list. The BTS Pop-Up stores in Korea, Japan, and Singapore sold many different designs of cushions, rugs, and blankets drawing inspiration from BTS songs.

Plushies

For those who like collecting dolls or simply want something to hug at night, the pop-up store may offer the TinyTan plushies wearing the band’s clothes from different music videos like “Mic Drop” and “IDOL.”

Snacks

In Japan, their pop-up store offered delicious yet BTS-aesthetic snacks like macarons and chocolates. Except these snacks are the fancier kind: the macarons were made by Pierre Hermé Paris, and the chocolates by Papabubble. The Seoul store also offered lollipops that drew inspiration from BTS’ song “Mikrokosmos.”

Don’t forget

We’re still in the middle of a pandemic. If you do visit the pop-up store, wear your masks and face shields, and observe social distancing and other safety protocols. You can also wait for more details before you make your decision. The other pop-up stores had online reservations before visits, observed strict social distancing protocols, and offered door-to-door delivery. We’re hoping the same is applied here in the Philippine pop-up store. Because as BTS said, safety first — even if you might miss out on visiting the store.
