The education system in the Philippines has undergone an upheaval due to the pandemic and the resulting lockdown. There’s no face-to-face interaction, everything’s submitted online, and colleges have even removed the entrance test component to their admission procedures. If you’re a soon-to-be college student or the parent or relative of one, then you should bookmark this handy guide to the college entrance test and admission requirements for the academic year 2021 – 2022.

 

University of the Philippines

Basis of admission: to be announced on 7 January 2021
Requirements:

  • Form 1 (Personal Data Sheet)
  • Form 2 (High School Records) via the applicant’s high school

Where to download forms: to be announced on 7 January 2021
Where to submit: to be announced on 7 January 2021

Deadline of application: 15 February 2021
Release date of application results: to be announced

  • Guidance Counselor / Class Adviser’s Recommendation Form Teacher’s Recommendation Form
  • Proof of payment of application fee
  • Scholarship/Financial Aid Questionnaire, if applicable
  • Additional documents (SAT results, NCAE results, etc.), if applicable

De La Salle University

To be eligible for the DLSU College Admission Application, an applicant must be any of the following:

  • a Grade 12 student expected to graduate at the end of Academic Year 2020-2021;
  • a Grade 12 student who graduated from a school based abroad prior to AY 2020-2021 and who has not taken any college course;
  • a passer of the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT), Alternative Learning System (ALS or Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency (NFEA&E) Program following DepEd regulations and therefore certified eligible for admission to college/tertiary level; or
  • a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) result holder, AP result holder, IB Diploma/IB Certificate holder or A-Level certificate holder who has met the DLSU criteria. (Note: All results and certificates will be subject to evaluation.)

Basis of admission: high school academic records (Grades 9, 10, 11), letters of recommendation, class rank, personal essay, etc.

Application fee: PHP 600
Requirements:

  • Academic records
  • Personal statement
  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Recommendation letters

University of Santo Tomas

Basis of admission: academic performance and record, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, interview or talent test (if applicable to the course), etc.

Application fee: starts at PHP 500
Requirements:

  • Signed Application and Conforme
  • PSA/NSO Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Certified True Copy of Form 137 or Form 138
  • Student Ranking Certification
  • Proof of Payment
  • Additional documents, if applicable

Where to submit: University of Santo Tomas Admission Rating Portal

Deadline of application: 31 January 2021
Release date of application results: sometime in 2021 (exact date to be announced later)

Far Eastern University

Basis of admission: academic performance in Grades 11 and 12

Application fee: PHP 500
Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Report Card
  • Certification of Good Moral Character from the School / Police Clearance from the country of origin / departure
  • Photocopy of NSO Birth Certificate / Household Register
  • Certificate of Graduation / Copy of Diploma
  • For Passers of Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) and Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E): (1)Certificate of Passing, (2) Certificate of Rating, (3) Photocopy of Diploma (For ALS A&E passers)

National University

Basis of admission: The entrance test has been waived, with only high school records being the basis of admission.

Application fee: free
Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Report Card
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Photocopy of the NSO Birth Certificate
  • For Passers of Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) and Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E): (1) Certificate of Passing, (2) Certificate of Rating, (3) Photocopy of Diploma (For ALS A&E passers)

University of the East

Basis of admission: UE is one of the schools that are still conducting college entrance tests (albeit online) during these uncertain times. After sending in your application and paying the fee, the UE Admissions Office will give you your schedule for the online UE-CET.

Application fee: PHP 400
Requirements:

  • Grade 12 school ID (If the Grade 12 school ID is unavailable, you may submit your Grade 12 report card or, if applicable, a copy of your official receipt of SY 2020-2021 enrollment), and
  • Latest 2″ x 2″ ID photo
