A staple in the world of K-pop, a lightstick is a merchandise that every idol group has. From older groups like Girls Generation and 2NE1 and younger ones like Stray Kids and New Jeans to global juggernauts like BTS and BLACKPINK, K-pop groups probably have a lightstick that fans can wave around whenever they perform on stage. While artists who are not usually categorized as idols probably won’t have one, there are a few who do have one, including Korean band The Rose and chart-topping soloist IU. Another Korean artist who might soon have a lightstick is Korean hip-hop trio Epik High, composed of rappers Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz.
Frontman Tablo posted a short video of Mithra Jin looking at their lightstick’s design, which looks just like a gloved hand with only its middle finger up. Yup, it definitely says “f@#% you.” It’s only a prototype design, but it definitely gives that IDGAF vibe.

In a previous tweet, Tablo shared that in their earlier years, the group actually proposed a similar lightstick design to their then-managing company YG Entertainment. “We asked for one that looks like a middle finger. And that, my friends, is why we don’t have one.”
YG: “But… that would have the entire crowd giving you the middle finger”

The group is celebrating their 20th anniversary with a two-day sold out concert this December. And it seems they’re going to take this event as a chance to finally debut their very own lightstick.

High Skools (a.k.a. Epik High’s fans) went wild when they watched the video. Many of them claimed they would buy a lot of this lightstick because it’s “multipurpose.” Well, you definitely could use it in response to a variety of situations.
I feel like I need to buy at least three, one for home, one for work, one for concerts.

Another fan even suggested making a keychain, so they could bring a small version that they can use whenever a situation calls for it.

A High Skool also recommended making a light stick case, joking that they might get weird looks while bringing the lightstick around.
케이스도 만드실 거죠? 들고 다니기가 좀,,,, ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Blo, yall are gonna make a case right? I dont want the ajumma looking at me disapprovingly on the subway 😅

In a previous concert in Brazil, a fan made a similar-looking fanmade lightstick that the trio even brought up to stage. Which tells you just how much High Skools love the idea of such a design.
it looks way more reliable than mine (thank god!!!) also I’m sorry it broke in your hands it was somewhat stable at home I swear
please sell it online with shipping to brazil 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/bimHX8bqwP

Even The Rose vocalist Woosung is ready to give up his group’s own lightstick for one of Epik High’s. He even provided evidence showing the sincerity of his trade offer, i.e. photos of him putting up his middle finger just like Epik High’s lightstick design.
I believe that i can relate to epik high’s light stick and the way you guys designed it really touches a soft spot in my heart. Here some examples and evidences to why my trade offer is sincere. pic.twitter.com/NhLz21spPZ

Tablo jokingly replied that he’d accept the trade. Now we want to ask: can other fans also offer a trade?
Now, fans only have this question: when is the preorder for this lightstick and where to sign up?
