The pandemic put a pause on the lives and livelihood of millions of Filipinos. But while things look bleak, there are good Samaritans in this world that shine through the gloom. A prime example would be the MCGI Free Store that went viral over the weekend. This particular one was located in Las Piñas but it spread the word out there that there are more stores like it in Metro Manila and in various provinces.
These Free Stores might only have the basic necessities like food and clothing but that’s already a huge help for Pinoys in need. Read on to know where to find these stores and see what they have for everyone.
A viral post on social media
Sotto is a volunteer at the store and is part of the organization behind it. She also shared how people who visited were mindful of taking only what they needed to leave for others. “Nakakatuwa yung iba na pumunta kanina kasi sinasabi nila ‘Bibilisan ko lang po kumuha para po makakuha rin yung iba.’ Kahit hirap na sa buhay, iniisip parin nila yung kapwa.”
