Filipinos undoubtedly love to sing. You could be a professional singer or just a karaoke lover. Or you could be belting it out in the bathroom or jamming in a drive. A videoke machine is a must-have in any family reunion. No matter when or where, Pinoys are ready to sing their hearts out.
But sometimes, it’s just hard to get the lyrics right, because not everyone is good at hearing lyrics. Did they say “you” or “true”? Is it “head” or “hand”? When you sing those lyrics, oftentimes they don’t make sense. But for the love of singing, you probably just power through it (or mumble the words, in some cases), even if they make you laugh out loud.
A decade ago, it would’ve been difficult to know the correct lyrics unless you have a music book or something similar. And while we could definitely look up the correct lyrics nowadays, it’s still hard to remove the first version you heard from your head.
