CES 2023 – one of the biggest tech events in the world – just wrapped up, and this year, Google has  just announced an exciting lineup of new connectivity features, products, and milestones for Android. There’s a lot to unpack, but we’ve compiled everything you need to know. Take a look at some of their impressive announcements!

New Android features

#TeamAndroid, now’s your time to shine. Google announced a slew of connectivity features and milestones for Android, which include the following:

Android Auto: Connect your phone to your car display

Google’s Android Auto comes with a new design that brings easier viewing and access to your favorite Android phone experiences like navigation, communication, and media. The best part? Users can soon make calls using WhatsApp with Android Auto, starting with the newest Pixel and Samsung phones.

Phone Hub: Seamless switching between devices

Phone Hub is a ChromeOS feature that lets you read and respond to your Android phone’s notifications from messaging apps straight from your Chromebook. New Chromebooks will also be equipped with new features that will level up your productivity with your Android phone, like syncing latest photos from your phone’s camera roll, sending files with Nearby Share, or sharing and reconnecting to saved Wi-Fi networks.

Fast Pair: Instantly find and connect nearby accessories

Fast Pair was designed for hassle-free Bluetooth pairings across all supported Android devices that run Google Play services 11.7+ with compatibility back to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It allows pairings to 300 headphone models from brands like Beats, JBL, OnePlus, and Sony. In 2022, over 320 million Fast Pair fast pairings were made.

Its newest version lets you use the camera app for your selfies or activate the Google Home app to manage compatible smart home devices like your thermostat and lights.

And there’s more!

Google shows no signs of slowing down because they’re also set to release a new line-up of Google TV devices this year, including the TCL Q-Series TV and the Hisense ULED TVs, Laser TVs, and Laser Cinema.
