8 Times BTS ARMY Was Jung-Shooked at Jeon Jungkook’s New Song, ‘Seven’

Jeon Jungkook dropped plenty of bombs on his fans when he released his much-anticipated solo single, “Seven.” The youngest BTS member had American rapper Latto feature in his track and South Korean actress Han So Hee (Nevertheless) act as his girlfriend in the official music video. Before anything was teased and released, ARMY knew the song would instantly be a bop, whatever it would sound like. In fact, they were so sure “Seven” would be a wholesome track where Jungkook sang about his love for his fans and his hyungs, the older members of BTS. Nothing prepared anyone for what was about to happen. Here are 8 times ARMYs were Jung-shooked with “Seven.”

 

1. The stunning visuals

Actor Jungkook did not come to mess around. He isn’t called the Golden Maknae for nothing. Singer, dancer, model, skilled cook, meticulous laundryman, and now add actor to his long list of talents. What can this man not do? Even though he’s been tossed around in the music video, ARMYs will agree he still looks better than all of the boys we know IRL.

 

2. The music video’s storyline

ARMY will also agree that no one expected the music video to be this sexy, cute, and funny — three words that describe Jungkook perfectly well.

“Seven” starts off with a couple, So Hee and Jungkook, arguing at a restaurant. Jungkook spends the whole week following So Hee around like a lost puppy. At one point, he even faked his death just to get her attention.

“Okay but Han So Hee is better than me ’cause I would’ve folded by Monday,” said one ARMY on Twitter. Valid. Facts. How she held off until the end of the week, we will never know.

“Jungkook being the type of lover to be so devoted to you that he would follow you to the ends of the earth and love you with every fiber of his being makes so much sense,” tweeted another and we’re out here crying “WHEN?!”

“If he isn’t obsessed with you like Jungkook from [‘Seven’] then what’s the point,” said another, and, once again, our already high standards just reached a new ceiling.

 

3. Han So Hee slaying

It’s safe to say Han So Hee exceeded everyone’s expectations of her in this music video. ARMYs are blown away by her (a) beauty, (b) acting skills, and (c) willpower to ignore Jungkook’s pleading. Her acting in the music video made it feel like it was a mini K-drama. And now we can’t stop thinking: what if Jungkook and Han So Hee were to have a drama together? Wouldn’t that be a smash hit?

4. ARMYs discover the explicit version

But if Jungkook in the music video made ARMYs smile, the lyrics coming from his vocal cords Jung-shooked everyone. The second they turned those subtitles on, every ARMY’s jaw dropped to the floor. And when they discovered the explicit version on streaming platforms, ARMYs clutched their pearls in disbelief. What is Baby Star Candy (his nickname, don’t ask) singing?

 


5. And breathed a sigh of relief when they looked at the credits

Look, we’re not in denial. We know Jungkook is a grown man of 25 and he can sing whatever he wants to. But it’s too much for poor ARMY’s hearts who thought “Seven” was about BTS’ love for each other. That’s why when the song credits were made available, many breathed a sigh of relief knowing Jungkook did not write a word. He obviously approved it though and he will probably sing it at every solo concert for the rest of his life. But he did not write it. Baby Star Candy remains innocent, and this is a canon event.

 

6. The promo photo

As if the music video and a wet boyfriend Jungkook isn’t enough to put ARMYs into cardiac arrest, the official promotional photo dropped, rendering the timeline in shambles. ARMYs can still remember the days when Jungkook had to hide his tattoos under long sleeves and patches. And now it’s exposed in 4k and not only that, he’s naked too. Is the world healing? Or is it ending?

 

7. And the TikTok dance challenge

While everyone was trying to recover from “Seven,” HYBE added more fuel to the fire. They announced the #SevenDaysAWeek Challenge with a video of Jungkook dancing to the song’s choreography looking like the quintessential crush ng bayan. We bet our left pinky toe other BTS members will join this one.

 

8. Realizing Jungkook literally grew up before our eyes

He may be the coolest pierced and tattooed boy out there but ARMYs will remember when he was still the painfully shy doe-eyed 15-year-old. It’s surreal to see Jungkook — or any member of BTS for that matter — release their own solo songs and albums but it’s a bittersweet testament to how far they’ve come as artists.
