2017 has been really exciting for foodies so far with all the new restaurants and food parks opening recently. And as we approach the last month of summer, it’s time to let go of all effort we’ve been exerting (or trying to exert, at least) to keep our bods beach-ready. Here’s where you should head to on your next date or barkada HOHOL!
8. Dario Restorante Italiano
Nothing is ever more romantic than a fancy date over pasta and wine. At Dario, you’ll fall in love with the mouthwatering pizzas, delectable pastas, and great wine, as well as the soothing ambience that fills the restaurant.
7. Ibiza Beach Club

From its breezy location in Cebu City, this beach club has made its way to the hip and happening Bonifacio Global City — and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. With space big enough to comfortably accommodate a thousand people, a Jacuzzi overlooking the city skyline and its famous 15-course Balearic grill meal serving food like lamb shoulder, Angus steak, cuttlefish, and even ostrich meat, Ibiza Beach Club is the luxurious food and party destination fit for your special occasions.
You can also opt for the 3-course or 4-course meals for lunch which can go as low as PHP 500 nett but no more than PHP 1,100 nett.
6. SGD Coffee
SGD Coffee, hidden in a quiet side street in Teacher’s Village, is an attempt to give more uniqueness to and emphasis on its coffee than what third wave cafés do these days. They make use of authentic Philippine-grown beans and sell bags of ground coffee in-store to promote our own creations. The place is rather small, but it’s cozy enough to spend the entire afternoon there reflecting on life.
5. Hapag Heritage Cuisine
Nothing beats the flavors of home. Hapag Heritage Cuisine serves a wide variety of traditional Filipino recipes for a price that’s easy on the wallet. Better keep this resto in mind when your overseas relatives and friends come home to visit, or when planning your next family gathering!
4. Kyo-to Kaiseki
Kyo-to Kaiseki is unlike all other Japanese restaurants you’ve eaten at in the Metro. It’s an intimate dining experience where you can choose to eat at the counter and watch its resident chef, Chef Kawamoto, cook up your dishes right before your eyes. Here, you get to indulge in the more high-end food fare of Japan through the kaiseki ryori, which is a traditional Japanese multi-course haute cuisine.
If you’ve always wanted to taste authentic, luxurious Japanese dishes, book a table at this restaurant today.
3. Mulberry Door
Burgos Circle is already full of great food destinations, and the addition of Mulberry Door just gives us more reasons to head to that area as soon as possible. This newly-opened restaurant specializes in luxe comfort food such as rib-eye, paella, and porcini penne to name a few.
2. Steak 77
Steak77 is poised to be your ultimate steak destination in the Metro. Don’t be tempted to browse through their Instagram feed; you just might go crazy hungry from all the photos of their rib-eye, wagyu, and bone marrow!
Amidst the hip and happening environment of UP Town Center, you can seek refuge in Nono’s which serves your favorite comfort food, from mac and cheese to homemade fried chicken to Pepito steak sliders.
