What’s the first things you do when you need information or help? You ask the internet. Question-and-answer sites have been around for decades, and at one point, Yahoo Answers was the internet’s most popular Q&A site. It holds over a decade’s worth of very… interesting queries and answers that’d often leave you more confused.

Sadly, its glory days are over, and it will be shut down forever on May 4 — 16 years since the site launched in 2005. No archives or anything! The site has been a meme goldmine for years now, and this is the end of a historic internet era. To commemorate it, here are some masterpieces from Yahoo Answers that the internet will always remember:

Choose violence

In memoriam of the eventual shutdown of Yahoo answers, I present to you the one Yahoo question that I quote at least twice a week. pic.twitter.com/JITHD9M3Jo

When all else false, just go ape shit.

Which song is it?

The beat question that was ever asked on Yahoo Answers pic.twitter.com/L9KbxRcysY

Pretty sure it’s “The Love Club” by Lorde.

Eat the rich

We wish it’s that easy too. To the rich, don’t be shy. Open your purses and let us have some.

Monica?

Try saying it five times and you’ll know the answer.

The greatest philosopher

When you think about it, it’s literally the simplest answer to differentiate the two.

What’s up, Thog?

Stale or not, a chip is still a chip. A guilty pleasure dusted with MSG and it’s good any day. Be like Thog – he’s a simple man.

Try to read this

Devastating that Yahoo is closing down Yahoo answers, since it’s taking down the internet’s Mona Lisa with it. pic.twitter.com/uqlDzQdFqu

— Ben Collins (@oneunderscore__) April 6, 2021

Reminds me of my college days where one of my professors used to ask us to write a five-page handwritten essay about a vague topic I know nothing about. As long as I hit the page count, I’m out.

How the internet works

With Yahoo Answers going away, I figured I’d also commemorate with my favorite image from there pic.twitter.com/axDrmb4zwZ

— Retrotype (@Retronnity) April 6, 2021

If there were a lot of Brandons on the internet then maybe it wouldn’t be such a chaotic place. I hope you’re having a nice day Brandon, wherever you are.
