After so long, Selena Gomez finally dropped her latest single, and the Internet went wild. “Lose You to Love Me” marks a new era for Selena’s career—and her life.

For much of her youth, Selena has been on an on-and-off relationship with fellow singer Justin Bieber. But they’ve finally called it quits last March 2018.

Two months later, Justin was revealed to be in a relationship with Hailey Baldwin, and a few months later, they basically eloped. Just last month, Justin and Hailey officially tied the knot in a full-on wedding ceremony.

And now, Selena is back for good—but not in Justin’s life. It seems she’s finally officially closing this chapter of her life and starting a new one. So now let’s goodbye to Jelena by going through the songs they wrote for each other.

Nothing Like Us (2013)

Via Hollywood Life

In the Jelena timeline: After their breakup, Selena covered Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River”, and many fans speculated that it was about the breakup. And Justin responded with this song.

What an insider said: “It tells the whole story about how he broke up with her, she begged him to take her back, and then he decided he was done for good. This is his answer to Selena.”

Standout lyrics: Tell me was it worth it / We were so perfect / Baby, I just want you to see

Love Will Remember (2013)

In the Jelena timeline: This was released right after their split in 2013.

What Selena said: “That’s the most personal track on the record, for sure. I think it’s a sweet way of releasing it. It’s not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting. I’m sure he’ll love it too.”

Standout lyrics: Forever will forever be ours, even if we try to forget / Love will remember

The Heart Wants What It Wants (2014)

In the Jelena timeline: Selena said Justin was one of the first people to hear this song and he thought it was beautiful.

What Selena said: “I support him. I think I always will. I’m upset when he’s upset, I’m happy when he’s happy. I don’t want anything bad ever to happen to him. It hurts me. That’s all.”

Standout lyrics: There’s a million reasons why I should give you up / But the heart wants what it wants

Where Are U Now (2015)

Via Filmibeat

In the Jelena timeline: This is one of three songs from Justin’s Purpose album which he confirmed to be about Selena. And the very obvious “Where R Now, Selena” doodle in the music video just confirmed it even more.

What featured artists Diplo and Skrillex said: “Justin wrote this record during a tough time in his life.”

Standout lyrics: When you broke down I didn’t leave ya / I was by your side / So where are you now that I need ya?

Sorry (2015)

Via Her

In the Jelena timeline: Another post-breakup song from Justin’s Purpose album which he said was about Selena.

What Justin said: “It is tough, but there is a lot of stuff that reminds me of her.”

Standout lyrics: I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice / By once or twice I mean maybe a couple of hundred times / So let me, oh, let me redeem, oh, redeem myself tonight

What Do You Mean? (2015)

Via Daily Mail

In the Jelena timeline: The last of the three songs about Selena from Justin’s Purpose album.

What Justin’s video said: At the 3:45 mark, a graffiti in the form of the letters “Sel” appear on a wall by a ramp at a skate park. And then the letters “ena” complete it in another frame at 4:11.

Standout lyrics: You had me from the start / Won’t let this end

Back to You (2018)

Via Daily Mail

In the (non-)Jelena timeline: Released after another messy reunion and breakup, this song is a soundtrack for the series 13 Reasons Why, but fans believe it might as well be about the Jelena love story upon listening to the lyrics.

What sources said: The music video features a leading man with a hairstyle reminiscent of Justin Bieber’s. While there’s no confirmation, especially since Selena is really not the primary songwriter, sources said Selena recorded it because it “fit her life.” Hmmm.

Standout lyrics: You could break my heart in two / But when it heals, it beats for you

In the (non-)Jelena timeline: Just this week! Selena released this song just this week. And a lot of fans are already spamming the comments section of Justin’s Instagram account with lyrics from the song.

What Selena said: Nothing. Yet. ;)

Standout lyrics: I gave my all and they all know it / Then you tore me down and now it’s showing / In two months, you replaced us / Like it was easy

This dance, it was killing me softly / I needed to hate you to love me
