Tinapay is life. I mean, it’s something you can enjoy at any time of the day. If you’re on the hunt for your next fave tinapay, we’ve got you covered. Whether you like your bread savory or sweet, here are some local bakeries that offer unique breads you need to try right now:

Pan de QQ by B55 Microbakery

A Pinoy breakfast staple best paired with a hot cup of coffee, pandesal is typically made with flour, sugar, yeast, eggs, and salt. But B55 Microbakery has taken their pandesal game to the next level by using a sourdough starter and filling it with four kinds of cheeses. Their Pan de QQ is a crowd fave among their patrons, and you can get cheese-filled bites for just Php 65 each. Their artisan sourdough is a must-try too!

For orders, visit their Facebook page.

Garlic Putok by Panaderya Toyo

Whether you call it putok or star bread, this type of Pinoy bread would bring you back to childhood meriendas where you would have it with a glass of orange juice. It’s already good on its own but Panaderya Toyo’s version of it would make lovers of savory bread gush: their Garlic Putok has actual garlic cloves inside! You can get it for P100 a piece or P600 for a box of 6.

Panaderya Toyo is located at The Alley at Karrivin, 2316 Pasong Tamo Exit, Makati City. They’re open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Pork Floss Ensaymada by Ambos Panaderia

If you can’t choose between savory and sweet, why not get the best of both worlds in one bite? Spongy and light, ensaymada is typically dusted with sugar and cheese. Ambos Panadaeria’s version though has cheese stuffed inside the bread and topped off with savory pork floss. You can get it for P330 for a box of six (small size) or P430 for a box of six in big size.

Ambos Panaderia is a Laguna-based online bakery. For orders, send a message to their official Facebook page.

Garlic bread is typically eaten with stews or soups you typically eat at lunch but you can have it as early as breakfast with 245 Bakery (you can eat bread whenever tbh). Fans of garlic bread should incorporate this in their next breakfast spread and just when you think it’s already good, each pandesal is stuffed with cheese. Couldn’t get any better than that. You can get a box of 6 for P230.

For orders, visit 245 Bakery’s Instagram.

Here’s something that would make any sweet tooth gush: Miss B’s Infused Honey’s Crème Brulee Cheese Puffs. Yup, you heard it right. It’s Miss B’s own take on portos cheese rolls: they generously fill croissants with cream cheese and tops it off with caramel, producing the same cracking sound when you eat crème brûlée. So boujee.

Here’s to the bunch that doesn’t like their food plain and loves to take it out of the box. Sure, classic cinnamon rolls are already great with that cream cheese frosting but wait until you see Bobby’s assortment of flavors. Aside from the classic, they also have chocolate chip, oreo cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, and hazelnut cinnamon rolls. Their cinnamon rolls start at P120 for two pieces and P400 for an assorted box of six.

The lockdown has given birth to several food trends including the viral ube cheese pandesal. If you’re still looking into trying flavored pandesals, Mommy Bakes MNL’s buko pandan pandesal is a must-try. It’s the classic dessert you’d find in Pinoy handaans all packed in a soft and fluffy pandesal. No need for special occasions, you can have it whenever.
