Correct us if we’re wrong, but based on all the concerts that have been announced so far for this year, we think that this is going to be one of the best years for concert lovers in Manila. We have the best combination of artists flying down to perform for us — from Katy Perry to LANY; from mainstream, to indie, and so far this is only including the shows within first 5 months of the year. Here’s a little glimpse of concerts that we have to look forward to in 2018:

The XX: “I See You”

The XX: “I See You”

World Trade Center – February 7

Tickets here: https://www.ticketnet.com.ph/index.php/component/k2/the-xx

The XX is known for their unique sound that mixes dreamy indie pop with electronica, and a little bit of rock. They’ll be coming back to the Philippines after five whole years as part of their Asia tour, promoting their third studio album: “I See You.” Popular songs from their newest album include “I Dare You,” “Say Something Loving,” and “On Hold.” We have no doubt that this show will transport us to a world of dreamy music and magical lights, and we can’t wait!

Katy Perry: “WITNESS: The Tour”

Katy Perry: “WITNESS: The Tour”

SM Mall of Asia – April 2

Tickets here: https://smtickets.com/events/view/6299

Pop star, Katy Perry, is going to be gracing the Philippines once again with an “eye-popping” concert. She’ll be bringing her “Witness” tour all the way from North America to Asia, and fans have nothing but great things to say about it. The singer may have shifted her music style a little; she went from singing about California Girls to Roulettes, but we all know what to expect from the girl who once adorned her body with candy instead of fabric. This will definitely be a spectacle!

Ed Sheeran: “Ed Sheeran Live in Manila”

Ed Sheeran: “Ed Sheeran Live in Manila”

SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds – April 8 (rescheduled from November 7)

This show is sold out.

Ed Sheeran was supposed to perform in Manila on the 7th of November, but because of an injury, he had to reschedule it. Thankfully, he’s now all set to perform for us in April, and we can barely wait to see our favorite Ginger live. We have no doubt that we’re all going to get goosebumps when he starts singing “Perfect,” which is one of the sweetest songs ever. For more songs that we can’t wait to hear Ed sing live, click here (https://8list.ph/ed-sheeran-songs-we-cant-wait-to-hear-live/).

Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2018: “Wanderland Pixels”

Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2018: “Wanderland Pixels”

Filinvest City Event Grounds – March 10

Tickets here: https://smtickets.com/events/view/6016

Wanderland is an annual indie music and arts festival that showcases international and local artists that are in somehow line with the year’s theme. This year, Wanderland has chosen a Pixel/Video Game theme, and they’re having artists like Kodaline, Daniel Caeser, Lauv, Jess Connelly, and IV of Spades, among lots of others talented artists and bands perform — and that’s not even all yet, they have yet to announce three more acts. However, whether or not you know the artists performing, it’s an event you’ll want to be at, based solely on the good vibes and free-spiritedness that’s present at every Wanderland Festival.

John Legend: “Darkness and Light”

John Legend: “Darkness and Light”

Araneta Coliseum – March 21

Tickets here: https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/3724397/john-legend-darkness-and-light-tour-quezon-city-smart-araneta-coliseum

John Legend, the soulful, Grammy-award winning musician that has the ability to serenade just about anyone, will be coming back to the Philippines as part of his “Darkness and Light” tour this March. Although he’s set to be performing some music from his new album such as “Love Me Now,” we’re hoping he sings some hits from his older albums like “Tonight (Best You Ever Had),” “You & I (Nobody in the World),” and “Save Room.” Even if he doesn’t perform them though, we’re pretty sure it’s going to be a concert for the books.

LANY: “LANY Live In Manila”

LANY: “LANY Live In Manila”

Araneta Coliseum – April 5 & 6

Tickets for this show are sold out.

If you’re one of the lucky ones that managed to get tickets to this show (that got sold out within the first 24 hours for the first show and within two hours for the second show!!), then you’re in for a treat! LANY has gotten increasingly famous in Manila (and the world) within the past year, and definitely for good reason. The indie pop band sets themselves apart with lots of synth-driven music and will be performing their first ever arena concert here in the Philippines in April.. Lucky Us! They’ll definitely have our hearts melting all through the night.

The Script: “The Script Live”

The Script: “The Script Live”

Mall of Asia Arena – April 14

Tickets here: https://smtickets.com/events/view/6223

The Irish rock band, The Script; that has got us listening to their hits over and over again, will be coming back to the Philippines for the fourth time this April with their newest #1 album, “Freedom Child.” They’re one of those bands that have been continuously making good music for years now,  and they’re still gaining new fans. They will be performing some of their older hits like “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved,” and “Breakeven,” as well as music from their newer albums. We can’t wait to get a dose of nostalgia with their upcoming show.

Bruno Mars: “24K Magic World Tour”

Bruno Mars: “24K Magic World Tour”

Mall of Asia Arena – May 3 & 4

Tickets for this show are sold out.

From the initial introduction of Bruno Mars to the music world, he’s only gotten better and better. The American musician sure knows how to put on a show, and create music that’s so going to give you LSS. From his older hits like “Just the Way You Are,” to his newer hits like “ Versace on the Floor,” his fanbase has only grown. He’s set to perform two shows here in May since the first one got sold out in no time. We can’t wait to see him bring out those moves, and sing along to his music, which let’s be real — we know all the lyrics to.
