8 of the Most Lavish Local Debuts
By Kyzia Maramara
A debut is probably one of the most important events in a girl’s life. It celebrates her coming-of-age and her step from a young girl into a young woman. There are a lot of ways to celebrate this special event. It could be through a simple meal with your family, or a small party with close friends. Some people, however, like to spend it with extravagance and why not? Turning 18 will only happen once! Here are 8 debutantes in their own lavish debuts.
1. Gabbi Garcia
The grand debut party of Gabbi Garcia was held at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City. She wore a silver custom Mark Bumgarner gown for the evening. Celebrities that attended include Andrei Paras, Annette Gozon, Gabbi’s Encantadia co-stars, couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera and, of course, Ruru Madrid.
2. Kisses Delavin
Kisses Delavin wore what would perhaps be one of the most beautiful and lavish debut gowns we’ve ever seen. Designed by Francis Libiran, it’s a beautiful number with a long train intricately embellished with embroidery. Guests included Ylona Garcia, Barbie Imperial, and Kisses’ PBB housemates. Her escort was even MYX VJ Donny Pangilinan!
3. Claudia Barretto
Claudia, the youngest daughter of Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla, recently had her debut at Whitespace Manila in Makati. She wore a crystal-embellished gown by Mark Bumgarner. Even though the debut was for family and close friends, it was still a star-studded event with celebrities like Lucy Torres-Gomez, Pops Fernandez, Yassi Pressman, and Erich Gonzales in attendance.
4. Janella Salvador
Janella thought she was going to sing as a surprise guest for a 7-year-old fan’s birthday party. Little did she know that it was her own party she was about to sing for! The Hollywood-themed debut at the Palazzo Verde in Las Pinas was a surprise from Star Magic. Janella wore a champagne gown by Pepsi Herrera and a red gown by Stephanie Tan. Among the people who attended were Elmo Magalona, Julia Barretto, host of the night Robi Domingo, and Sophia Andres.
5. Kathryn Bernardo
One of the most famous Kapamilya stars out there, Kathryn had a star-studded debut at Blue Leaf Filipinas. She stunned her guests with a lovely pink gown designed by Francis Libiran and a powder blue number from Vania Romoff. Celebrities that attended include her love-team partner Daniel Padilla, Julia Montes, Marian Rivera, and Sam Milby.
6. Liza Soberano
Liza’s relatives and friends surprised her with a laid back Bohemian-themed party at Club Balai Isabel in Batangas. It was complete with a lot of flowers, tiki tents, and torches. Her manager said that her three siblings flew from the United States just to be there on her special night. She shared her first, last, and only dance with Justin David, her brother.
A week before her actual birthday, Liza spent an early celebration at two different charities just like she wanted.
7. Julia Barretto
Julia celebrated her 18th at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel Ballroom. She wore a red Michael Cinco gown and was escorted by her then-love team partner Iñigo Pascual. Her debut is also famous for being a mini family reunion to her feuding family. Celebrities who attended include Kathryn Bernardo, Megan Young, Kim Chiu, Iza Calzado, Karen Davila, and hosts Robi Domingo and Matteo Guidicelli.
8. Dian Serranilla
My family and I want to humbly share the story behind my debut and my father, Steve Serranilla. He is a very rounded and down to earth man. All of this is because of his hard work. All the blessings we have received is from God and my father’s sweat and blood. Before anyone says anything otherwise, please do read the link on my bio. I thank my parents @ednaserranilla & Steve a thousand times over for everything. The spread’s link is on my bio ☺️ spreading the love to all of you ❤️
But perhaps the most lavish of them all is Dian Serranilla. A lot of people would know her as the girl who had her debut at the MOA Arena. She is the first debutante to celebrate there! Everything was glamorous from the invitations (which had LED screens!) and save the date video even to the guests who were dolled up by Mac cosmetics before the event.
