Listen to this article:

Due to the pandemic, going cashless has become more popular these days. You either simply just transfer through your bank app or send money via digital wallets like GCash. But there are situations where you won’t be able to use your credit or debit card or even your digital wallets. Some shops, like sari-sari stores, only accept cash as payment, while others could have their online systems down during the time of your visit. Whatever it may be, it won’t hurt to have some extra bills in your wallet for any emergency, no matter how convenient your digital wallet can be. So if you’re one of many who now store their money in your GCash account, here’s how you can “withdraw” your GCash balance into actual hard cash.

Can any GCash user cash out?

In order to be eligible for the cash-out feature, your GCash account needs to be fully verified. To do this, just prepare a valid ID, and from the app menu, tap “Verify Now”. Then, follow the steps in the app.

Is there a limit?

The cash-out feature has a daily maximum limit of PHP 100,000, but it has no monthly limit.

What are the ways to cash out your GCash balance?

There are two ways to turn your GCash balance into actual bills:

  1. You can get your cash through over-the-counter transactions; or
  2. You can withdraw via ATM.

What are the requirements for over-the-counter cash-out?

To cash out your GCash balance over the counter, you simply need to present your mobile number and a valid ID.

How can you cash out your GCash balance over the counter?

  • Inform the cashier that you would like to Cash Out from your GCash wallet.
  • Provide your mobile number and desired Cash Out amount.
  • Present a valid ID.
  • Wait for an SMS confirming your Cash-Out. Reply with the OTP to confirm.
  • Receive the cash from the cashier once you have confirmed.

Where can you cash out your GCash balance over the counter?

There are different establishments from which you can cash out your GCash balance, including convenience stores, supermarkets, department stores, pawnshops, and payment facilities.

  • Family Mart
  • Puregold
  • SM Store
  • Robinsons Department Store
  • Pera HUB
  • Villarica
  • Tambunting
  • Jaro Pawnshop
  • ExpressPay
  • TrueMoney
  • Posible

How does the ATM withdrawal method work?

Once your GCash account is fully verified, you can apply for a GCash Mastercard, which can serve as a debit card connected directly to your GCash account.

You can use it as a payment method at any of the 35.9 million MasterCard merchants not only in the Philippines but also in 210 countries and 150 currencies. Aside from using it for payment, you can also use the card to withdraw from any affiliated Bancnet ATMs nationwide and MasterCard ATMs worldwide.

So how can you get a GCash Mastercard?

You can get your own GCash Mastercard for only PHP 150, with an additional PHP 65 if you choose delivery. To apply for a GCash Mastercard and have it delivered to your home, you can sign up through the GCash App and provide the necessary information asked.

If you prefer picking up the card, you apply through any Robinsons Business Center and follow these steps:

  • Inform customer service that you would like to purchase the GCash Mastercard.
  • Pay PHP 150 and take your GCash Mastercard.
  • Follow the instructions provided on the welcome kit in linking the card to your GCash account.
