The Chainsmokers, a New York based DJ duo that everyone initially thought were just the creators of a one hit wonder with their single #SELFIE, proved everybody wrong, and came out with hit after hit following their first single.
The now Grammy-award winning duo will be visiting the Philippines for the second time next week, as part of their “Memories… Do Not Open” tour. They will be performing at the Mall of Asia Arena on September 13, and if their previous shows were any indication of what this next one will be like; bring out your dancing shoes and get ready to dance to all of the best remixes. Here are 8 originals that we can’t wait to hear them play live!
Roses
Roses will never get old. As their second single after “#SELFIE,” this is the song that actually got them famous. When it had just come out, every time you’d walk into any club, bar, or restaurant — or even just into your car, as soon as you turned on the radio, you’d hear Roses playing. It was one of those songs.
Closer
“So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover.” We’ve all sang the lyrics to this song at least ten times (we’re being generous) — we don’t even have Rovers! What can we say though, that’s The Chainsmokers for you: always super catchy.
P.S. Would you believe that this song has over a billion plays on Spotify?!
Paris
If only we could all stay in Paris to get away from our parents; what a life that would be… I guess we’ll just have to channel it through The Chainsmokers.
Something Just Like This
Coldplay + The Chainsmokers = Magic. Enough said.
All We Know
“Cause this is all we knooooOOoow” Imagine the entire crowd attending the show singing along to this and trying to hit all the same notes. Are you excited yet?
The One
This is from their newest album, “Memories… Do Not Open,” which kind of changed the vibe of the duo from EDM to more pop-y. They sing about feelings and emotions and give more regard to their lyrics than they previously did. “The One” also has an interestingly nostalgic sound behind it.
Honest
The DJ duo, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, actually gave us a little glimpse into their feelings about the effect of their fame on their relationships. This one’s pretty different from your usual Chainsmokers, but also not really.
Young
When you think “The Chainsmokers,” you don’t really think “relatable.” Surprisingly enough though, this one is! It was the first one we had on loop when they just released their new album.
