“Tumindig sa himig.” This is the message that this year’s UP Fair wants to convey. From February 10 to 15, 2020, music lovers will come together to celebrate six amazing nights of music and art, while simultaneously campaigning for a specific advocacy. If you’re aiming to join these nights of fun, read our UP Fair 2020 guide below for everything you need to know.
UP Fair 2020 kicks off with Hiwaga, organized by the UP Diliman University Student Council (USC) and O/C Records. On this night, they invite you to join them in their advocacy to defend the independence and sovereignty of the Filipino people as a nation. If you’re interested to go on the first ever UP Fair Monday, these are the artists you’ll see live:
Check out their Facebook page to know how to grab those tickets. Be quick — they’re selling out so fast!
Presented by EMC² Fraternity and encompassing the theme “Struggle Against the Attacks on Urban Poor” in response to present issues such as the transportation crisis, TRAIN Law, and EJK, Kalye Tunes features artists from the local hiphop and Pinoy music scene:
By Wednesday, the UP Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) wants you to fight with them to defend academic freedom with 23 talented OPM artists:

On the Thursday of the week of UP Fair 2020, it’s time to go back to where you came from and remember your roots — and advocate for climate justice with these Pinoy artists:
Organizers UP Economics Society and the UP Underground Music Community want to bring attention to the rapidly rising global temperatures, so make sure to get your tickets soon and join them! Check their Facebook page for more details.
On Valentine’s Day, bring out your special someone — or if you’re single, you can just jam out with your barkada at Cosmos, organized by UP Junior Marketing Association (JMA) in partnership with the USC. Advocating for freedom of expression and gender emancipation and empowerment, Cosmos invites you to a night full of wonder and music from the best of mainstream and emerging Filipino talent:
Check out their Facebook page for more details.
This year, the Sigma Kappa Pi Fraternity and the Sigma Delta Pi Sorority is back to bring you Rev 2020: Alab at Puso. Aside from their advocacy for artistic, musical and cultural empowerment, Rev is campaigning for human rights, especially in light of the tyranny and injustice in our current society.
You can check out their Facebook page to know how to score tickets.
There’s much more to do in UP Fair than just listening to the talented artists onstage. There are thrilling rides, yummy food concessionaires, free-flowing booze, and even some random trinket shops. The UP Diliman College of Fine Arts Student Council is organizing a Students’ Exhibit where you can enjoy visual artworks all weeklong.
In case you missed it, each night also features a specific advocacy the organizers want to put a spotlight on. You should inform yourself on what they’re campaigning for and know how you can help push these advocacies forward.
These nights would definitely be crowded, so just bring only your essentials packed in small bags. Make sure to be ready for rain, since some UP Fair weeks were met with unexpected rainfall. Wear appropriate outfit (no to anything white!) and bring shoe covers, raincoats, and umbrellas.
There won’t be enough parking for everyone attending. It might be better to actually just commute to save on time. If you really want to get a parking slot, be early. And honestly, even if you’re not bringing a car, it’s better to just be early in general, since there’s much to explore before the actual show starts.
Unless you’re on vacation the whole week, we’re not sure if you can attend each night. You’ll probably sleeping off the whole day after a UP Fair Night; that’s how late these gigs go. But if you actually got those week-long passes to attend each night, in which case, you do you! Also, sana all.
