A day in the life of Vice President Leni Robredo involves a lot of government work and, unfortunately, battling with online trolls and haters. Their latest nitpicking is VP Leni mistakenly interchanging “nerves” and “veins” while explaining a medical procedure. But while trolls quickly rained hate, VP Leni only had a four-letter response to the whole issue and it’s perfect.

Once again, VP Leni has found herself the target of harsh online criticism. This time, it was after she made a remark during a Facebook live briefing for her office’s COVID-19 initiatives. In the video, she was explaining how the nurses had a hard time finding her “nerve” for IV insertion. It was an innocent mistake but many had the nerve to see this as their cue to attack (pun intended).
Online trolls have a field day
Keyboard warriors were quick to jump on the chance to dunk on the vice president for her lack of knowledge in the medical field. The timeline got scientific for a second. Nerves are part of the body’s nervous system and are composed of neurons that transmit signals to our brains. Veins, on the other hand, are part of the circulatory system and are responsible for carrying deoxygenated blood to the heart. Ergo, what VP Leni should’ve said were veins. But while she did make a mistake, it wasn’t critical nor did it deserve to be magnified. And yet online trolls treated it as if she pocketed P15 billion of OVP funding.
Supporters defend the VP
While VP Leni had a barrage of hate comments on her tail for that nerve vs vein issue, her supporters also came to the rescue. Some compared issues thrown at VP Leni over the years to the issues of other presidential aspirants. Others reiterated that people make mistakes and the VP’s shouldn’t even be made into a big deal.
VP Leni only has one reaction: Lols

What does the VP herself have to say about the whole thing? Four letters — “Lols.” (As in the acronym for “laughing out loud.”) She replied to a supporter’s tweet that mentioned how lawyers might need the help of doctors to avoid making mistakes such as nerves vs veins.
“Kaming mga abogado hindi kami masyado pamilyar sa bahagi ng mga katawan tulad ng nerves at veins, kaya kumukuha kami witness na doctor kung yan ang involve sa kaso, pero kami alam na alam namin kung sinu MAGNANAKAW, ADDICT, NAMEMEKE, bahagi yan ng aming pagaaral at trabaho,” read the tweet she replied to.
VP Leni to someone who believes in fake news: “Naku kawawa ka naman!”
“Si Quizon rin naku naniniwala to sa fake news, ayan. 40 x 4 Ma’am is 1,600. Nako Quizon, naniniwala ka sa fake news. Spliced po yung video na ‘yon. 40 x 4 x 10 is equal to 1,600. Naku kawawa ka naman.”
She also recently rebutted fake news about her daughters skipping quarantine
“Sinasadya nalang talaga mag sinungaling dahil may mga napapaniwala. This is already criminal and malicious,” ended VP Leni.
Remains focused on her job
Let our response be VP Leni’s iconic 2020 GIF hair flip
Una, electoral protest. Sunod, impeachment complaint, sedition case, indirect contempt. Ngayon, ang gusto NBI investigation. Kailangan ba du’n personal appearance o puwedeng Zoom? Dami pa kasing trabaho😇 pic.twitter.com/MGUoa0ofWF

VP Leni is a busy woman but she makes sure to address the nonsense around her and keep things clear. She will probably never get rid of these trolls for the rest of her life but we rest assured she remains unbothered and flourishing.
