It’s getting more difficult to wake up and be thankful for each day when, somewhere in the world, terrorists are stealing innocent lives, world leaders are encouraging a culture of hate, and countries are widening the divide between one another.
And when we find ourselves powerless to actively do something to assuage the rapid spread of hate these days, we could spend a few moments in silent prayer for a much better world.
Here are 8 things we should all pray for especially now during these troubled times.
Tolerance
That all the hate and violence born from intolerance, racism and discrimination would end, and that love and understanding prevail.
Understanding
That we may open our minds to problems and situations we don’t fully comprehend, instead of having a judgmental spirit.
Wiser world leaders
That our world leaders put the welfare of its citizens first, and that they’d bring all the nations together to lasting peace and unity.
The Environment
That we, who depend so heavily on Mother Nature, may become wiser in our decisions and live a more sustainable lifestyle so that future generations may be able to enjoy the beauty of nature rather than suffer from it.
Healing
That we may experience physical, mental and spiritual healing now, when we need it the most.
Those in poverty
That we may be able to open our hearts and extend our help to them in all the ways that we can.
Those afflicted by wars
That they may be saved from their situation and that they may be welcomed with open arms at the place they long to be.
Those who remain ignorant
That they may open their eyes and ears to acknowledge all the pain and suffering around them, as well as all the beauty, so we may all unite towards building a better future for us and the generations succeeding.
