Gaming has always been a favorite pastime for a lot of people, but it became even more so during this pandemic, with nearly everyone locked in at home. One of the games that got really popular is Innersloth’s Among Us, a two-year-old game that’s basically Mafia/Werewolf, but with tiny little spacemen in a spaceship trying to figure out who the impostor is.
The game requires some powers of observation (for innocent people to detect who the bad guys are) and strategy/lying (for bad guys to get through each voting round and stay alive) involved, so you’ve got to be really smart and logical about it all. If you want to learn how to play the game, here are 8 Among Us gamers who can show us how it’s done.
Alodia Gosiengfiao found herself in the spotlight through her amazing cosplaying, but she has since branched out to enjoy gaming. She is one of the pioneer gamer-streamers on Facebook Gaming in the country and one of the founders of Tier One Entertainment, a gaming agency that partnered with Lyceum University to create an esports curriculum. Aside from Among Us, she also streams DOTA2, League of Legends, and other games.
Jeremy Wang, the man behind Disguised Toast, is one of the best Among Us players. He likes to experiment with his strategies, trying out new things to bring out the impostor or confusing crewmates with his sound logic as an impostor. His fellow players usually can’t decide if they want to keep him as a crewmate to help as a detective or if they want to vote him out immediately just in case he’s the impostor.
Most of the world knows her as Miss World 2013, but even before venturing into beauty pageants, Megan Young had long been an avid gamer. But now, she’s putting a lot more time into enjoying playing games like League of Legends, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and Among Us.
Known for his deep, raspy, and easily distinguishable voice, American gamer CorpseHusband is so mysterious that the internet keeps on coming up with theories on whether that’s really his voice, who he really is, and more and more. He’s one of the best players in Among Us, primarily because he just remains so calm all the time, as opposed to getting angry for being accused or begging not to be voted out.
Rachell Hofstetter, or more known as Valkyrae, started streaming through Instagram before moving to Twitch and eventually Youtube. She is also the first female gamer of esports team 100 Thieves and is always championing female online gamers like herself. In Among Us, she’s a great detective, but also a great impostor, so you’d never know whether you’d want to vote her out or not. Fun fact: She’s actually half-Filipino from her mom’s side!
Ludwig Ahgren is a known esports commentator and competitor (also famous Youtuber, entrepreneur, and actor), especially for Super Smash Bros. Melee. He is also known for producing both gaming- and non-gaming-related content on his channel. In Among Us, he knows what questions to ask to single out the impostor. And when he’s impostor? He can talk his way out of being sus, too.
From a young age, Bianca Yao of Biancake has always enjoyed a good game, and she continued developing that skill while also keeping up with her studies and eventually went on to play in tournaments. People know her for DOTA 2 skills, but she has also streamed Hearthstone, Valorant, and Among Us, among many other games.
On top of being one of the biggest gamer-streamers in the Philippines, Dexie Diaz is also an influencer, a cosplayer, and an actress with commercials and TV show appearances under her belt. While she is primarily a Mobile Legends gamer, Dexie Diaz also enjoys deducing who’s the impostor in an Among Us game.
