Korean Restaurants as Good as Tickets and Visas to (South) Korea

4. Yoree

1-5 Forum 7th Avenue cor 25th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig | (02) 866 0574, 0929 466 0032
Molito Lifestyle Bldg. 4, Unit 107, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City | (02) 894 0440
Facebook | Website | Open everyday from 11am to 3pm then 5:30pm to 10pm
Budget for two – P1500

Yoree is fairly new in the Korean culinary scene, but it has already established itself as one of the go-to places for high-quality food, enjoyed in a classy setting. It’s perfect for celebrating special occasions because really–what’s a better celebration than one celebrated through excellent Korean fare? Get out of your comfort zone, and try their Nakji Bokkeum or octopus seasoned with gochujang.

Other extraordinary dishes that you have to try are the Kimchi Ssambap and Tongdak Gui Tteokgalbi. End your meal on a (really) positive note with Bingsu; it comes in three delectable flavors.

3. Min Sok

5655 Don Pedro Street, Poblacion, Makati
(02) 895 9586 | Facebook | Open everyday from 10:30 am to 10:30pm
Budget for two – P1200

With worried and hesitant hearts (slash bellies), we reveal this hole-in-the-wall, culinary gem. Nestled in gritty and lively Poblacion—authentic Korean food with very reasonable prices lies in Min Sok. It’s definitely underrated, adding to its appeal as an obscure food spot. For first timers, their Samgyeopsal and Chadolbaki surely won’t disappoint.

2. Jang Ga Nae

8137 Plaza Ortigas, Jose Escriva Drive, Ortigas, Pasig City | (02) 633 6960
Open everyday from 10am to 10pm
237 Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes, Paranaque City | (02) 820 4071
Open everyday from 11am to 2pm then 5pm to 10pm
Facebook | Budget for two – P1000

Jang Ga Nae is owned and managed by Koreans. It’s also frequented by Koreans who gush over its authenticity, bringing them back home for a delicious while. Pinoys may feel like the foreign ones as they dine here, but once the food is served, there won’t be any complaining. Jang Ga Nae’s specialties include Sun Du Bu Jjige or soft tofu spicy stew and Wu Sam Kyup or beef belly. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try peculiar dishes like goat stew and blood cube soup.

1. Sariwon

Bonifacio High Street Central,7th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig | 0915 900 9272

GF Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center, Greenhills, San Juan City | (02) 650 3075
Open from 10am to 11pm
Facebook | Website | Budget for two – P1000

Sariwon is a multi-awarded restaurant from Korea. It’s been recognized as the best Korean restaurant by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and our very own Philippine Tatler. With a more upscale ambiance, savor the legendary bulgogi recipe that’s been wowing people since 1938. The recipe is from Mrs. Bun-Im Koo and up to this day, Sariwon upholds it for customers’ enjoyment.

Make your Sariwon experience complete by ordering the Seng Galbi and the Deungsim Yangnyeom Bulgogi. Savor premium meat with unlimited banchan.
