Here come the ‘Ber’ months and with it the spirit of Christmas (yes, as early as September) and all kinds of exciting events for everyone. Before we dwell on year-end parties or plan our holiday escapades, why not enjoy the moment? Buy a book or two or watch a movie or two with your barkada and family!

Manila International Book Fair (September 11-15)

The beginning of September means many things for us Filipinos. For one, it’s the start of ‘Christmas Season’ which also means that there would be sales left and right. But for bookworms, September means the return of their favorite book fair.

The 40th edition of the Manila International Book Fair is slated on the second week of September. What once had been three halls of SM Megamall Megatrade hall are now two floors of SMX Convention Center. Shop books with the lowest discounts, attend seminars, workshops, and book signings. Make sure to bring a friend and a huge bag for your haul!

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (September 13 to 19)

Proudly on its third year, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino will continue its nationwide week-long celebration exclusively screening Filipino films in all theatres. This year, PPP coincides with the 100thAnniversary of Philippine Cinema which is why three films have been added as part of the PPP Sandaan Showcase.

The seven feature films are a mixture of action, comedy, and romance, tackling themes on friendship, family, love, and exclusivity. Read more about the films here.
