Studying in an all-girls school is like being in a different world: there are rules that are only applicable to you, and you get to understand girls better than others. Plus, you have a LOT of amazing and weird experiences that are worth telling your friends who haven’t been to one.

We’ve listed some of them, and you’ll definitely relate to every single item:

You get to talk about menstruation without shame

Unlike in a co-ed setting where you’d whisper when asking for a sanitary napkin, there is no shame in talking about your period here. Heck, you even go in sync with a lot of your friends. You’ve even used it as an excuse to skip a class, and you get away with it most of the time.

You get to change clothes inside the classroom

No need to go to the rest room, changing clothes in the middle of the classroom is a normal scenario here. Even adjusting your bra and pulling up your tights in public is just fine.

You’ve had crushes on your male teachers

Males are obviously non-existent species in this environment, so when you have a male teacher who looks pretty decent, everyone—including you—would have a crush on him.

Almost everyone has/had a girlfriend

I mean, come on, you’re surrounded with girls every day for years, you’ve definitely got attracted to one or many at some point. There’s no question about it.

You’ll never run out of hair ties, or people to borrow them from

No hair tie? Just ask anyone in the classroom and you can borrow one from literally everyone.

You get excited (and nervous) when there’s a Soiree

From time to time, some schools held soirees: gatherings which involve students from the neighbor all-boys school. For students, It’s like a lowkey version of speed dating, so everyone gets hyped and/or nervous about it.

Having a “simple girl” image is a strict rule in the school

This actually means following very strict rules like wearing a long skirt that’s three inches below the knee, not wearing any make-up, or not getting a ‘boy cut’ haircut—or else, “lagot ka kay sister!” These rules are so strict that when you finally get to a co-ed college, you actually feel a bit grown up.

The Mean Girls-like social pyramid is real

There’s no doubt that Mean Girls is a favorite movie among girls, and one reason maybe is because the movie felt real. In an all-girls school, there is always “The Plastics.” You can even easily identify which Mean Girls character you are.
