The murder of George Floyd has sparked outrage not only in America but also around the world. Thousands are protesting out on the streets despite the threat of the pandemic and violent measures taken by the police (rubber guns, tear gas, maces, and everything in between). You might be wondering: how can I help towards the #BlackLivesMatter movement even from home?

Aside from sharing awareness on social media, there are plenty of resources you can browse containing lists of donation drives and petitions to sign. And even if you can’t donate directly to these drives, you can still support the movement through streaming videos. The next time you want to watch new content, include these videos on your list as these YouTubers are donating their video revenues to support the movement. Remember: don’t skip the ads.

Zoe Amira

Zoe Amira’s video contains a 50-minute compilation of performances and art from different black artists and musicians. Make this video your new work playlist as it contains amazing tracks from these artists (maybe you’ll find songs to add to your chill playlist). You might also find new illustrators to follow and be inspired by.

Stephanie Soo

If you’re fond of watching mukbang videos, you’ve probably come across Stephanie Soo’s content. She takes an interesting turn on mukbangs: she doesn’t do the regular silent-eating-sounds videos. Rather, she discusses different topics as she eats: from unsolved murders to raising awareness on pressing issues like systematic racism and police brutality.

Naturally Sunny

Are you a makeup newbie or simply want to look like you’ve lost a few pounds without doing ~anything~? Learn it from Naturally Sunny! In this video, she shares a step-by-step tutorial on applying contour, highlight, and blush for beginners. The next time you’re doing your makeup, your shadows will look more natural!

Oceans ASMR

Are you a part of that side of YouTube who enjoys watching people who whisper? ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) videos are really helpful for relaxation and sleeping. If you’re lucky, you might even get some tingles! In this video, Oceans ASMR uses an interesting trigger: glow sticks!

Sophia and Cinzia

We’re still under quarantine and if you want to feel a semblance of normalcy even while stuck at home, you can spend a picnic day with best friends Sophia and Cinzia. A picnic in a park in England; how fancy is that?

How to Cake It

We have witnessed some of the craziest commencement rites during this trying time: from robots to virtual graduations on Zoom. Here’s to the class of 2020 who never got to march for graduation! As baker Yolanda said in her video, “at this point, we’re ready to graduate from 2020” and there’s just too much truth in that. If you’re a fan of crazy cake creations, you’ll fall in love with How to Cake It’s videos.

Megan Short

Are you like Megan who had to cancel trips due to the pandemic? Well, it’s never too late to go on a holiday – you just have to be creative about it! This video is very fun since Megan had her whole family involved! Take down some notes and maybe you can try organizing a vacation with your family too, at home.

Madison Sarah

Throughout the quarantine, you’ve probably seen a number of your friends try different workouts; you might’ve even tried them yourself! Chloe Ting’s videos are some of the most popular free workout videos because in just two weeks, you might get abs! Madison Sarah jumped into the Chloe Ting train and see if the workout delivered results.
