About the Bro Code
By Kevin Christian L.Santos

Moments from Volleyfriends UAAP Volleyball Kick Off SHAD

The bro code is defined as a set of rules to be followed among men or in this case, bros. The code was further made popular by everyone’s favorite douchepickle Barney Stinson of How I Met Your Mother fame. The show’s creators later published the Bro Code book, which later became a best-seller.

Since the code reached mainstream popularity, there have been different versions of the code. Despite its different versions, the core message is thou shalt be a bro to your fellow bros. Here are a few rules to help you BROseph Estradas, BRObin Padillas and Richard Bromez and attain peak bro-hood with your fellow bros and brahs.

8. You must always be there for your bro

8 About the Bro CodeVia Cheezburger

No bro should be left behind. Walang iwanan, bro.

7. A bro must respect another bro’s family

And thou shalt not ever hook up with another bro’s mom or sister. Even if the mom looks like Alice Dixson or Ina Raymundo, control yourself. They’re totally off-limits, bro. Cousins are fair game.

6. A bro should never, ever sleep with another bro’s ex

6 About the Bro CodeVia Giphy

Under no circumstances can you date your bro’s ex. If you really can’t help yourself, ask your bro for permission before dating their ex. If he says no, you shall respect his wishes or suffer the consequences.

However if your bro says yes, you should never rub in the fact that you’re dating his ex. Ang sakit, bro. Doing so warrants a beatdown.

5. Bros will never let their bros drive drunk

You should never let your bro put themselves in danger. Never let them drive drunk. Hide or steal their keys if necessary. If possible (and if you’re sober), drive them to their destination.

In this regard, you should never let your bro drunk dial or text their girlfriend or their ex. Confiscate his phone if necessary, and limit his intake of Red Horse and Ginebra. Mag-tubig ka muna bro.
